Apple Bourbon Baked Beans
Add extra excitement to a traditional Bush’s Best ® Bean Pot Baked Beans dish with the flavors of thick cut applewood bacon, oaky bourbon, and dried apples.

INGREDIENTS
- 5, #10 cans Bush’s Best® Bean Pot Baked Beans
- 5 lbs Thick Cut Applewood Smoked Bacon, cut into ¾ in pieces
- 1 qt Water
- 4 lbs Yellow Onions, medium diced
- 1 qt + 8 fl oz Maker’s Mark Bourbon
- 5 lbs Dried Apples, chopped into medium pieces
- Kosher Salt and Black Pepper (To taste)

- 5 lbs Thick Cut Applewood Smoked Bacon, cut into ¾ in pieces
- 1 qt Water
- 4 lbs Yellow Onions, medium diced
- 1 qt + 8 fl oz Maker’s Mark Bourbon
- 5 lbs Dried Apples, chopped into medium pieces
- Kosher Salt and Black Pepper (To taste)
DIRECTIONS
- Pre-heat a convection oven to 350°F.
- Place chopped bacon in a large skillet and cover with water. Render bacon over medium-high heat until water is evaporated, once water is gone reduce heat to medium and continue to cook bacon until crisp stirring often.
- Add onions to the bacon and sauté for a few minutes, and then deglaze with bourbon and flame to remove alcohol. Reduce the bourbon slightly to resemble a glaze.
- In a large mixing bowl add the bacon-onion mixture, baked beans and chopped dried apples, stir well to combine. Season with salt and pepper.
- Divide this mixture among 5, 4 inch half hotel pans and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes covered and 30 additional minutes uncovered. Reserve hot for service.
