INGREDIENTS

  • 5, #10 cans Bush’s Best® Bean Pot Baked Beans
  • 5 lbs Thick Cut Applewood Smoked Bacon, cut into ¾ in pieces
  • 1 qt Water
  • 4 lbs Yellow Onions, medium diced
  • 1 qt + 8 fl oz Maker’s Mark Bourbon
  • 5 lbs Dried Apples, chopped into medium pieces
  • Kosher Salt and Black Pepper (To taste)

INGREDIENTS

  • 5, #10 cans Bush’s Best® Bean Pot Baked Beans
  • 5 lbs Thick Cut Applewood Smoked Bacon, cut into ¾ in pieces
  • 1 qt Water
  • 4 lbs Yellow Onions, medium diced
  • 1 qt + 8 fl oz Maker’s Mark Bourbon
  • 5 lbs Dried Apples, chopped into medium pieces
  • Kosher Salt and Black Pepper (To taste)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Pre-heat a convection oven to 350°F.
  2. Place chopped bacon in a large skillet and cover with water. Render bacon over medium-high heat until water is evaporated, once water is gone reduce heat to medium and continue to cook bacon until crisp stirring often.
  3. Add onions to the bacon and sauté for a few minutes, and then deglaze with bourbon and flame to remove alcohol. Reduce the bourbon slightly to resemble a glaze.
  4. In a large mixing bowl add the bacon-onion mixture, baked beans and chopped dried apples, stir well to combine. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Divide this mixture among 5, 4 inch half hotel pans and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes covered and 30 additional minutes uncovered. Reserve hot for service.
